The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), German Hockey League (DEL), Handball Bundesliga (HBL) and the 3rd League generated total revenue of €450.3M ($558M) in '13-14. According to Deloitte's seventh "Finance Report of German Pro Sports Leagues" in cooperation with the ISS Institute for Sportmanagement, the leagues broke last year's record revenue of €382.2M by 18%. All four leagues generated new record revenues during the '13-14 season. The 3rd League and the DEL were the main drivers behind the boost with revenue increases of 37% and 15%, respectively. The HBL and BBL were able increase their respective revenues by 6% and 5%. Deloitte Sport Business Group partner Karsten Hollasch said, "Despite the dominant media presence of football in Germany, we observed that the other big pro leagues have an overall positive economic trajectory. Especially the BBL has been impressive with a revenue increase of more than 50 percent within the last five years" (Deloitte).
