Event Notes: Lincoln City-Eastleigh Match Postponed Due To Fire At Hotel

Fifth-tier U.K. football club Lincoln City's game at Eastleigh FC has "been postponed after a fire broke out at the hotel where the Imps were staying." Players and staff were preparing for Saturday's fixture in Hampshire "when the incident occurred at the Hilton Southampton hotel" (LINCOLNSHIRE ECHO, 11/15). ... The European Tour and golfer Paul Lawrie announced a new match play tournament, which will be part of The Race to Dubai for the next three years. The inaugural Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play will take place at Murcar Links Golf Club, on the outskirts of Lawrie’s native Aberdeen, from July 30- Aug. 2. With a prize fund of €1M ($1.25M), it will pit 64 of the leading players on The Race to Dubai against each other in a straight knock out, match play contest (European Tour).
