BSkyB is dropping “British” and “Broadcasting” from its name, to become just Sky as it announces the completion of a £7B ($11B) deal to acquire Sky Deutschland and Sky Italia. Sky CEO JEREMY DARROCH "will lead the combined group" as group CEO in addition to leading the business in the U.K. and Ireland. U.K. finance boss ANDREW GRIFFITHS "will also step up to lead the group’s finances." The businesses in Italy and Germany "will continue to be led by their respective chiefs," ANDREA ZAPPIA and BRIAN SULLIVAN (CITY AM, 11/13). ... League Two side Burton Albion has named former Leeds and Chelsea striker JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK its manager. He succeeds GARY ROWETT, who joined Birmingham City in October. He is the third black or ethnic minority manager in the Football League alongside Huddersfield's CHRIS POWELL and Carlisle United's KEITH CURLE (BBC, 11/13). ... 10Ten Talent has signed golfer SAM LITTLE to build its new golf division. The agency currently represents PELE, footballer JACK WILSHERE and EPL Tottenham Manager GLENN HODDLE (10Ten). ... The Int'l Association of Venue Managers named SMG Assistant GM & Dir of Finance for Intrust Bank Arena CHRIS KIBLER a Finance Instructor for its Venue Management School (IBA).
