Mediaset Announces Its Free-TV La Liga Coverage Will Move From Cuatro To Energy

Spanish broadcaster Mediaset has decided that its free-TV broadcasts of La Liga games will air on its Energy channel instead of Cuatro, which had until now carried games on Saturdays at 10pm local time, according to MARCA. The first game that "fans will be able to enjoy on Energy" will be Real Sociedad vs. Deportivo La Coruña on Nov. 22. A Mediaset spokesperson said that the move "is an effort to relaunch its Energy sports channel, coinciding with the process of re-tuning its digital channels." The "decision has come as a surprise with the season already started and the lineup completely stable" (MARCA, 11/13).
