French Rugby Club Racing Metro Looking For Young Talent In Hong Kong

French rugby club Racing Metro is "hoping to identify a young player from Hong Kong and turn that talent into a Top 14 league player," according to Kevin Kung of the SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST. Confirming the club's interest in broadening its appeal in Hong Kong, Racing Metro CEO Arnaud Tourtoulou said that the Parisian club "would like to invite a young Chinese player to join their training system." Tourtoulou: "We see what Manchester United has done [nurturing talent from Asia] as our benchmark. We would like to bring a Chinese player with huge potential to our training and formation center in Paris and help him develop, and eventually this player should play in the Top 14 league." Tourtoulou added that the fact his club and Hong Kong FC were both sponsored by Natixis, a global asset management company, "would help carry out the plan." He said, "We want to link a partnership with the Hong Kong Football Club. The two clubs have very similar backgrounds" (SCMP, 11/14).
