Bundesliga Side Hertha Berlin Reports Profit Of €13.4M During '13-14 Fiscal Year

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin "recorded a profit for the first time in several years," according to the SID. The club, which currently ranks 14th in the league table, generated a profit of €13.4M in the fiscal year ending June 30. The positive result "is largely due to investment of finance investor KKR, which acquired a 9.7% stake in the club back in January." The results show overall revenue of €104.3M, including the €30M from KKR. Hertha received a total of €21M from TV and radio broadcast rights. On the expenditure side, the club spent €90.9M in '13-14. The two biggest posts are club and administrative staff wages (€40M) and player salaries (€30M). In addition, the club was able to reduce its liabilities by €12.41M to €24.38M (SID, 11/10).
