La Liga Side Valencia Replacing Grass At Mestalla Stadium Ahead Of Barcelona Match

La Liga side Valencia's Mestalla stadium will "have a new green carpet for the next game against Barcelona" on Nov. 30, according to SUPERDEPORTE. On Monday, trucks began arriving with "the necessary materials to replace the playing surface after deterioration during the last month." The "new grass that will be planted will begin arriving on Wednesday and be installed by the end of the week." The club has "taken advantage" of three weeks without a home game to have the new surface ready for the Barcelona game. The last time that "a complete field replacement took place was five years ago" (SUPERDEPORTE, 11/11). In Madrid, F. Álvarez reported the playing surface "has been losing grass little by little since the start of the season." In fact, "the club even tried to address this in October, but finally had to give in to the evidence." Valencia is "currently studying various budgets and technical characteristics so that the new surface will last longer" (MARCA, 11/11).
