Event Notes: MotoGP Returns To Austria As Early As '16 With Race On Red Bull Ring

Red Bull and Dorna Sports have reached an agreement that will see MotoGP return to Austria as early as '16, with the race to be staged at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Pending all of the necessary official approvals for the Red Bull Ring, Dorna will propose the inclusion of the grand prix to the FIM to be scheduled in the '16 season (MotoGP). ... Organizers "have created an emergency snow deposit to prevent a renewed cancellation of the Alpine World Cup ski event on Jan. 1." The Munich event "had to be canceled in '12 and '14 due to snow shortage and warm temperatures" (DPA, 11/6).
