Marketplace Roundup: TBV Lemgo Signs Sponsorship Deal With Melegant Design

Handball Bundesliga (HBL) side TBV Lemgo signed a new sponsorship deal with upholstery producer Melegant Design for the '14-15 season. The company will be featured on the back of the team's jersey as well as on boards along the sidelines (TBV Lemgo). ... HBL club SG Flensburg-Handewitt has signed a new business partnership with GCH Hotel Group. The hotel management group will be featured on ad boards at home games during the '14-15 season (SG Flensburg-Handewitt). ... Japanese car brand Nissan has teamed up with Bundesliga club FC Schalke midfielder Max Meyer to become a new brand ambassador. Meyer will be part of Nissan's UEFA Champions League campaign (Nissan). ... The Qatar 2015 Organizing Committee announced multinational business Al Siddiqi Holding as an official partner of the 24th Men's Handball World Championship. Al Siddiqi Holding will support the championship with official uniforms and traditional Qatari attire such as thobes, abayas and shaylas for the team-members and volunteers (GULF TIMES, 11/5).

GOING RACING: Moto3 team Gresini Racing named R9 Racing Generation an official sponsor to the team. The Indonesian exhaust manufacturer has entered into a two-year partnership with Gresini Racing in the Moto3 World Championship as part of its first sponsorship experience in two-wheeled motorsport. The agreement will see R9 Racing Generation’s logo featuring on the motorcycles of both Enea Bastianini and Andrea Locatelli as well as on their racing leathers. The logo will also be featured on the team clothing and the team equipment and materials (Gresini Racing). ... Amazon became a sponsor of Polish football clubs Slask Wroclaw and Lech Poznan. As an official partner of Slask, it's logo will be placed on shirts under players' numbers, on the club's stadium bands, website and its publications (Ekstraklasa). ... Turkish Airlines added Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord to its "growing list" of football partners. The airline will receive advertising space across Feyenoord's De Kuip Stadium, in the team's official magazine and on its social media accounts during Royal Dutch Cup and UEFA Europa League matches (SOCCEREX, 11/4). ... Hockey India signed Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd., a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd., "as their new principal partner for the upcoming Hero Champions Trophy to be held in Bhubaneswar" from Dec. 6-14. MCL, one of the largest subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd., "has been associated with the Hero Hockey India League as the co-owner for the Kalinga Lancers’ team." MCL "now takes a leap ahead and will be seen as the principal partner of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014" (PTI, 11/6).

PLACING A BET: 666BET.com "has signed sponsorship deals with six non-league clubs playing in this weekend’s FA Cup first round." The FA Cup partnerships "will see the online bookmaker’s logo appear on the kits of a selection of sides from across the country and the non-league pyramid" (SBC NEWS, 11/5). ... National Rugby League side Melbourne Storm and Powerade announced an extension of their agreement for a further year. The partnership sees Powerade continue as the official hydration partner of Melbourne Storm (Melbourne Storm). ... Eurospin has signed a multi-year deal with RCS Sport to sponsor the Giro d’Italia White Jersey. The jersey is worn by the leading young rider -- born before '91 -- and celebrates one of the most important race classifications (RCS Sport). ... MasterCard has signed an agreement with Wematch to be the official card and preferred payment method for Copa América Chile 2015. With this agreement, MasterCard will have exclusivity in the payment services category, global rights to use the tournament name and brand, the opportunity to work with their customers to increase the scope of marketing initiatives for the tournament, and exclusive tickets and experiences for promotional offers targeted to MasterCard cardholders (MasterCard).
