Olympiapark Munich has named current Assistant Managing Dir ARNO HARTUNG its new naming director starting immediately. The 65-year-old replaces RALPH HUBER, who "has been under fire since the Munich prosecution started investigating him on five counts of embezzlement last summer" (BR, 11/3). ... Brasileiro side São Paulo FC appointed CARLOS PEREIRA "as the new head of marketing at the club." Peirera, a former consultant at Brazilian marketing agency Dream Factory, replaces GILBERTO RATTO, "who has left to coordinate" the Brazilian Football Confederation’s marketing activities. The appointment comes as São Paulo President CARLOS MIGUEL AIDAR "looks to create a more professional executive structure at the club." Peirera "has been tasked with sourcing a new major sponsor for the team, whose two-year deal with Semp Toshiba ended this year" (SOCCEREX, 11/3). ... JAMIE AITCHISON "will leave his role as Channel 4's commissioning editor for sport at the end of the year." Aitchison "was a key player in the revamp of the station's racing coverage," a process which concluded toward the end of '12 with the new-look program launched the following Jan. 1. Aitchison, who also oversaw coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, "is set to join broadcast media agency Aurora Media Worldwide in the new year, with Channel 4 already seeking a replacement." A Channel 4 spokesperson said, "Jamie will remain in post at Channel 4 overseeing Channel 4 Racing and NFL until the end of 2014" (SKY SPORTS, 11/4). ... CLAUDE MAKELELE "has been relieved of his duties as head coach" of Ligue 1 side Bastia after less than six months in charge. The former France int'l "was handed his first managerial role with the Corsican outfit in May but won just three of his 13 games in charge." A club statement said, "As of this afternoon, training will be taken by GHISLAIN PRINTANT and HERVE SEKLI until the appointment of the next head coach" (SKY SPORTS, 11/3).
