Media Notes: Canal+ Releases 'Risqué Trailer' For Paris St. Germain-Marseille Matchup

French broadcaster Canal+ has “put out a risqué trailer” for the upcoming “le Classico” match between Paris St. Germain and Marseille. In celebration of the channel’s thirty years on-air, it has decided to play an “off the wall” trailer for the match, scheduled for Sunday on the thirteenth day of Ligue 1 play (FOOTBALL, 11/4). ... Bild.de "has reached an agreement with the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) to show game summaries online." Bild.de "continues to grow its sports offering by adding German top flight basketball league to its already existing highlights of Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga games." Bild.de "will receive the BBL right through a sub-license with Deutsche Telekom, which owns all of the league's national and int'l media rights" (QUOTENMETER, 11/3). ... Vodafone struck a deal to offer Sky’s NowTV services to its mobile customers, "in the latest sign of a strengthening relationship between the two British groups." Vodafone "is expected to announce the tie-up on Tuesday, which will give subscribers to its Red 4G bundle access to shows on NowTV, a pay-as-you-go service." These include TV box sets "and 13 entertainment channels such as Sky One and Sky Atlantic." Launched by Sky in '12, NowTV "allows consumers to buy daily or monthly access to sports and entertainment, rather than committing to longer subscriptions." The entertainment pass offered by Vodafone "normally costs" £6.99 ($11) a month (FINANCIAL TIMES, 11/4). ... An average of 8 million TV viewers watched defending Chinese Basketball Association champions Beijing Ducks beat the Guangdong Southern Tigers 103-89. The game was broadcast live on CCTV-5 with the average reach this year climbing 27% compared to the previous season’s opening game. Overall, more than 42 million people watched at least part of the coverage on CCTV-5. In addition, regional channel Beijing TV 6 broadcast the game and registered 475,000 viewers on average and an overall number of 1.28 million tuning in -- which represents 10% of Beijing watching part of the opening game or even the full duration (Infront). ... Fabrice Santoro, two-time winner of the Davis Cup in ’91 and ’01, "will join Europe 1 commentators Cyril Hanouna and Corinne Boulloud, to give commentary on the Davis Cup live" from Lille. France will face Switzerland in the Davis Cup final on Nov. 21-23 (EUROPE 1, 11/4). ... Fútbol de Primera, the official Spanish-language U.S radio rights holder of the FIFA World Cup, unveiled its new composite company logo for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia (FDP).
