Event Notes: Lyoness Open To Be Featured In Race To Dubai Through '19

The Lyoness Open will be featured in The Race to Dubai until at least '19 following a new five-year agreement between The European Tour, title sponsor Lyoness and promoter Golf Open Event gmbh. As part of the new agreement, the prize fund for the '15 tournament will be increased by 50%, from €1M ($1.25M) to €1.5M ($1.88M). The tournament will return to Diamond Country Club, in Atzenbrugg, the host venue since '10, which is a European Tour Destination as part of The European Tour's Properties Network, from June 11-14 (European Tour). ... The Argentine FA "said that it is not considering bidding to host the World Cup in 2030." AFA VP Miguel Angel Silva said, "Argentina is not in this. It is not thinking about the World Cup in 2030. We are not even contemplating it." The possibility of Chile bidding for the 2030 World Cup "took flight on Monday" when Chilean Football Federation (ANFP) President Sergio Jadue "admitted beginning talks to presenting a bid that could include Uruguay" (EFE, 11/4).
