Franchise Notes: Rumors Mount Of AC Milan Links To Hong Kong Billionaire

The presence of Hong Kong-based businessman Richard Li with Silvio and Barbara Berlusconi at AC Milan's 1-1 draw with Fiorentina on Sunday "has sparked media speculation of a China link for the Rossoneri." AC Milan "is reportedly looking for an investment partner who would be willing to take a minority stake of up to 30% in the club and Li may be acting as an intermediary for Chinese investors, with a meeting having been scheduled between the billionaire and Barbara Berlusconi for Monday" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 10/28). ... Scottish Championship side Heart of Midlothian is to introduce a "living wage" for its employees, the first football club in Scotland to do so. Chair Ann Budge said that "it had been approved by directors at their October board meeting and would be brought in for all staff." The living wage is £7.65 ($12) an hour, more than the minimum wage of £6.50 ($10.50) (STV, 10/28).
