Rugby World Cup Organizers Warn Fans About Tickets From Secondary Websites

Organizers of Rugby World Cup 2015 have issued a "fresh warning to supporters that paying vastly inflated prices for tickets from unofficial secondary websites would not offer any guarantee of entry to matches at the tournament next year," according to Gavin Mairs of the London TELEGRAPH. Some tickets for England's pool match against Australia were being offered at a 2,665% "price mark-up, only 48 hours after the tournament organisers confirmed the ballot allocations following the general sale which left the majority of supporters missing out on their original applications." England 2015, however, has warned that ticket-holders who have "purchased their tickets on the secondary websites could be refused entry because of a breach of their terms and conditions." An England 2015 spokesperson said, "Our message to rugby fans is clear -- only buy tickets through official sources" (TELEGRAPH, 10/27).
