Craiova, Romania Unveils $70M Stadium Design For CS Universitatea Craiova

Romanian government authorities have "unveiled the design of a planned stadium for top tier football club CS Universitatea Craiova," according to Jaroslaw Adamowski of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. Romania Deputy PM and Minister of Regional Development & Administration Liviu Dragnea said that the project is "to be 90% financed by the state with a further 10% of the funds to be provided by the municipal authorities of Craiova." Dragnea: "The investment will be worth a total of €55 million ($70M)." Located on a site of "about 77,000 square metres, the new sports facility is to replace the Ion Oblemenco stadium in Craiova." Under the plan, the "designed facility will be fitted with a capacity of 30,854 seats." Following the planned awarding of the deal for construction works, the construction is "to be completed within a period of 17 months" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 10/24).
