Media Notes: Telekom Reaches Deal With ARD, ZDF To Broadcast BBL Game Summaries

Deutsche Telekom reached a two-year deal with German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF for broadcasting match summaries of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) starting this season. In addition to game summaries, all matches will be broadcast live via Telekom's TV platform Entertain, including live streaming for PCs, tablets and smartphones (TELECOM PAPER, 10/15). ... German online sports channel Sportdeutschland.TV has received a broadcast license for the creation and distribution of a nationwide TV program. The broadcast license was issued to DOSB New Media, which operates Sportdeutschland.TV (German Olympic Sports Association). ... Champions Tennis League "has entered into an exclusive broadcasting tie-up" with Tennis Channel. The channel "will broadcast all Champions Tennis League matches" from Nov. 17-26 to 35 million Tennis Channel homes across the U.S. (INDIAN TELEVISION, 10/15).
