Eintracht Frankfurt Extends Stadium Naming Rights Deal With Commerzbank Until '20

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt "has reportedly extended the stadium naming rights deal with Commerzbank until '20," according to BILD. Commerzbank, which has been the stadium's naming-rights partner since '05, will pay €3.5M ($4.4M) annually for the rights. The current contract between the bank and stadium operating company FSM "will expire in July." The two parties "have been in negotiations about an extension for months." FSM's Patrik Meyer said, "We are in very positive negotiations." Back in '05, Commerzbank paid close to €30M for the rights over a 10-year period. It currently pays €3M ($3.8M) annually to have its name on the stadium. With the new five-year deal, Frankfurt will earn an additional €2.5M ($3.2M) for the rights (BILD, 10/14).
