Serie A side Palermo will appoint Youth Team Dir DARIO BACCIN as the club’s new sporting director, after EDOARDO REJA "declined the role." Reja "has been unemployed following his departure from Lazio at the end of last season" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 10/13). ... German Hockey League (DEL) side Cologne Sharks fired head coach UWE KRUPP and Sports Dir LANCE NETHERY on Friday morning after six consecutive losses. In addition, the rest of the coaching staff "was put on administrative leave." The club has appointed NIKLAS SUNDBLAD as new head coach (EXPRESS, 10/10). ... League One side Scunthorpe United confirmed MARK ROBINS as its new manager "on a three-year contract," replacing sacked RUSS WILCOX (BBC, 10/13). ... National Basketball League club Melbourne United has begun an int'l search for the "best person available" to coach the club after CHRIS ANSTEY "resigned on Monday." Six-time NBL championship coach BRIAN GOORJIAN and former Perth Wildcats championship coach ROB BEVERIDGE "have been linked to the role." Anstey's resignation "was a shock to the NBL as it came after Melbourne United had played just one game." Assistant coach DARRYL MCDONALD "will be the interim coach" (CANBERRA TIMES, 10/13). ... League Two side York City Manager NIGEL WORTHINGTON "resigned with the club one place above the League Two relegation zone." His former number two STEVE TORPEY "has been put in charge of the team in a caretaker capacity" (BBC, 10/13). ... Former AC Milan forward MARCO SIMONE "has been confirmed" as the new coach of Swiss side FC Lausanne-Sport. Simone has been at the club since November in the role of technical director, "and has signed a contract to manage the Swiss Super League side for the remainder of the season," taking over from FRANCESCO GABRIELE (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 10/13).
