Ligue 1 Side Nantes President Waldemar Kita Avoids Questions Regarding Public Shareholding

Ligue 1 side FC Nantes President Waldemar Kita "adverted questions on the possibility of public shareholding," according to SO FOOT. It is an idea that is being promoted by the "À la Nantaise" association. Kita focused on bashing the association, even calling its president, Florian Le Teuff, a xenophobe. Through a news release on Thursday, À la Nantaise "chose to respond jokingly" to these usual attacks: “Every time these false attacks are mentioned in the media, À la Nantaise will be pleased to send out two gifts by mail. First, we will offer a bottle of vintage Muscadet wine to the 'CZESC Nantes Pologne' to promote friendship between France and Poland. The package will include the following message: 'We are sincerely sorry for the sad ramblings of the president and Owner of the FC Nantes. À la Nantaise would like to express our great affinity for the Polish people, their history, culture and success.' In addition, we will offer a gardening tool to Mr. Waldemar Kita who, in the debate that we wish to open on the subject of FCN governance, has chosen to put himself at the level of daisies.” The statement ends with some concluding sentences from three members on the association’s board of directors: “À la Nantaise denies any criticism from the FC Nantes president and each of the 18 members of our board of directors is completely willing to meet with Mr. Waldemar Kita for a respectful exchange, for example over a drink of Muscadet or Polish vodka. Both are marvelous products” (SO FOOT, 10/9).
