Football Notes: FIFA President Sepp Blatter Wants To Rethink Away Goals System

Sepp Blatter "wants to 'rethink' the system of goals scored away from home." The FIFA president believes that the system of goal scored away (for separating teams tied home and away) "is outdated." In fact, "it favors the team that plays away in the second match." Blatter: "It is time to rethink the system" (AFP, 10/9). ... La Liga side Espanyol announced that it has "lost 1,387 members from last season, but the club did not dramatize the figures, as it believes that the negative trend has stopped." Of the club's 25,492 total members, 13,650 are adults (EFE, 10/9).
