Event Notes: Jerusalem Hosts Second Annual Formula One Road Show

The streets of Jerusalem, "the world's holiest city," have been closed for two days, "not for a religious ceremony but to welcome the roar of a Formula One show." In the "non-competition showcase, cars sped on Monday and Tuesday outside the walls of Jerusalem's Old City" for the second annual Jerusalem Formula One Road Show. Ferrari, Audi and Porsche vehicles were "displayed in a hangar near Jerusalem's former railway station, while models posed alongside cars as television crews and avid F1 fans thronged the hall." Cars raced at speeds of up to 240km/h on a two-km track running past the Old City walls (AAP, 10/8). ... Serie A side AC Milan has confirmed that its November friendly with Ligue 1 side Montpellier "has been postponed until a later date." AC Milan "had arranged to face the French side" on Nov. 15, midway through that month's int'l break. However, the club has confirmed that the game has been "postponed until a later date" due to "severe flooding" that hit Montpellier (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 10/8).
