Marketplace Roundup: Yezz Signs Shirt Sponsorship Agreement With Ligue 1 Side Lille

Mobile device manufacturer Yezz signed an agreement as shirt sponsor with Ligue 1 side Lille. Infront Sports & Media secured the partnership that will run during the '14-15 season. Yezz's logo will be integrated on the sleeve of the club's jerseys (Infront). ... Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has upgraded the solar facilities at its home ground "with the help of partner Wircon." The company, which is part of the Wirsol group which puts its name to the Rhein Neckar Arena, "has installed around 10,000 square metres of photovoltaic panels at the stadium, creating the largest such solar facility in the Bundesliga." The system "is based around a solar carport and will be capable of generating 1.1 million kilowatt hours of electricity once it has been commissioned in the next few weeks, supplying around two thirds of the venue’s energy needs" (SOCCEREX, 10/7). ... Sportcal announced that it will open a fourth office -- its first in Asia -- in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong office is in addition to Sportcal’s existing headquarters in London and regional offices in Glasgow, Scotland and Lausanne, Switzerland. The move represents the latest step in Sportcal’s continuing growth plan since it announced in December last year that Progressive Ventures, part of the Progressive Media Group of companies, has become a shareholder and strategic partner in Sportcal (Sportcal). ... Verizon FiOS will offer a two-week preview of ONE World Sports, offering all FiOS subscribers an opportunity to experience the network known for delivering sports events live from around the world. ONE World Sports will also devote the full broadcast day of Oct. 25 to Super Soctober Saturday, featuring eight football matches over 18-and-a-half hours that collectively define the global scope of the network. During the Oct. 18-Nov. 3 free preview period, all of Verizons more than five million FiOS customers will be able to watch ONE World Sports, which is currently available to approximately three million FiOS subscribers through the FiOS TV Extreme and FiOS TV Ultimate packages (ONE World Sports).
