Flood Damages Ligue 1 Side Montpellier's Stade De La Mosson

Ligue 1 side Montpellier has been handed a "clean-up job of gigantic proportions after their Stade de la Mosson was ravaged by a flash flood," according to EUROSPORT. The club was left in a "state of shock after the natural disaster tore through their 32,000-seater stadium," leaving the pitch, stands and facilities inside the building "in ruin." The southern city was hit with half of its annual rainfall in "just a matter of hours, with the 12 inches of rain forcing 4,000 locals to evacuate their homes." No amount of "precautionary measures could have stopped the chaos caused throughout the Stade de la Mosson." It will need some "serious TLC" during the int'l break if there is "any chance of it being safe and ready for Montpellier's next home game" against Lyon on Oct. 19 (EUROSPORT, 10/7).
