Australian Football League side Sydney Swans has appointed two-time AFL Geelong premiership captain TOM HARLEY as its new GM of football. Harley replaces DEAN MOORE, who "has vacated the role after five years." Since retiring in '09, Harley has "been part of Channel Seven's football coverage in the role of special comments and has also been involved with AFL NSW/ACT where he was a one-time general manager" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 10/2). ... The Wasserman Media Group appointed GEORGINA TWISS as its new managing director for global media. Twiss will be responsible for leading Wasserman's global media business, including operational and business development strategies. She joins Wasserman from Fox Int'l Channels, where she served as exec VP of affiliate distribution in Europe and Africa (Wasserman Media Group). ... Jamaica Sport, an agency formed to "explore commercial opportunities provided by sports tourism," was launched on Wednesday in Kingston, with the agency announcing it will be led by CHRISTOPHER DEHRING. For the past two years, Dehring headed Jamaica's Sports Tourism Implementation Committee (JAMAICA GLEANER, 10/2).
