Manchester United Earns $184M From Sponsorships During '14-15

A new Sponsorship Today report showed that ManU now earns 11% of all sponsorship income across Europe's six major football leagues. The data, which tracks 1,179 club deals from the EPL, the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie, shows that the Manchester club earns an estimated $184M from its '14-15 sponsorships and that does not include its Nike kit deal (soon to be replaced by adidas for $121M per year). The figures show that ManU earns nearly $50M more per year from sponsorship than its nearest rival Barcelona, on $135M, and 95 times more than the Premiership's lowest earning club, Burnley, which receives an estimated $1.94M. The report shows that across Europe’s primary leagues, club sponsorship is worth $1.67B, with the EPL the biggest recipient on $582M. The German Bundesliga is second on $396M with Spain’s La Liga third on $294M. The biggest percentage gain, however, is in France, where Paris St. Germain has grown commercial income exponentially in recent years. Its primary shirt deal with Emirates, for example, was worth $6.2M in '12, whereas today the figure has risen to $31.2M (Sponsorship Today).
