F1 Schedules Mexico City FanZone Experience To Take Place During U.S. Grand Prix

F1 will "officially return to Mexico City after a 23-year absence" on Nov. 1, 2015, but fans "will not have to wait until then for the excitement of the GP," as an F1 FanZone Experience will be held in less than a month, according to Juan Pablo Sánchez of LA AFICION. As part of the activities to promote next year's race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the fan zone event will be held from Oct. 31-Nov. 2 -- from noon-8pm each day -- at the same time as the U.S. F1 Grand Prix in Austin. Tickets to attend the event will cost 100 pesos ($7.45) per day or 150 pesos ($11) for all three days. Between 15,000 and 20,000 F1 fans will "enjoy a party" at Mexico City's Plaza Cuicuilco. Fans who buy tickets will be able to "watch all the action on giant screens." Event organizer ACE Publicidad Managing Partner Pedro Miguel Musi said, "We want this to be like starting the engines, it is a great platform so that in 2015 all the expectations for F1 can be met. It is a good way to bring to the people the excitement of this type of event. There will be big surprises and the idea is to have Mexican drivers there for autograph sessions" (LA AFICION, 10/1).
