Argentine FA President Denies League Will Relegate 10 Teams In 2016

Argentine FA President Luis Segura on Thursday denied that "10 teams will be relegated from the first division" in '16, according to the DPA. Segura: "It is impossible to have 10 relegations. The long championships are going to be played." Segura denied reports claiming the AFA would relegate 10 teams to the second tier in '16 "with the idea of counteracting the 10 promotions proposed for the upcoming season." Argentine newspaper La Nación reported that "the new format for the tournament for next season will feature 30 teams and last for 12 months" (DPA, 9/25).
