FA Could Help Tottenham In Stadium Search As Arsenal Groundshare Seems Unlikely

EPL side Tottenham Hotspur needs "a ground for one season while White Hart Lane is being redeveloped and the Emirates remains the obvious answer," according to Jason Burt of the London TELEGRAPH. It is a "magnificent stadium with superb facilities, great transport links and a 60,000-capacity." And "in contrast to some of the far-flung venues being suggested for their HQ -- everywhere from Milton Keynes to Brighton -- it would involve just a four-mile trip." And yet "there is not a single soul in north London who believes this will happen." Spurs "have not even asked -- and have no plans to, despite logic dictating it is one of two eminently practical solutions to their temporary homelessness." And even if they "did float the idea, Arsenal’s response would be short and to the point." Indeed, Arsenal Manager Arsène Wenger has already said, "Geographically it’s a solution but you understand as well it’s a very sensitive subject. I do not think that will happen." The FA also "has a very obvious duty to try to make some money to help pay off Wembley." Allowing Spurs "to use the stadium for a year -- and one year only -- would speed up that payment process." It "would also keep the club in north London" (TELEGRAPH, 9/25).
