Chinese Sports Brand 361 Degrees Steals Show From Korean Brands At Asian Games

A little-known Chinese sports attire brand "is stealing the show from Korean brands at the ongoing Asian Games," according to Kwon Ji-youn of the KOREA TIMES. The logo "'361 Degrees' is virtually everywhere," from the uniforms of South Korean torch-bearers in the opening ceremony to the cap of Chinese swimmer Sun Yang. Judges, delegates and organizers, as well as volunteers, "have been routinely spotted sporting the same logo on their clothing." The unfamiliar brand is said to have invested $15M in the Asiad, and "it seems that the Chinese brand's bet has been successful thus far." An Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee official said, "We did ask several of our country's sporting goods brands for support, but no South Korean conglomerate was as aggressive as 361 Degrees." An official at Cheil Industries, home to the SPA brand, said, "We agree that it would have been a great opportunity for us had we been selected the official sponsor for the Asiad" (KOREA TIMES, 9/24).
