German Football League Launches Tender Process For Goal-Line Technology

The German Football League (DFL) "has launched a tender process for the introduction and operation of goal-line technology in the Bundesliga," according to the SID. The DFL confirmed the launch on Monday. The introduction of goal-line technology in Germany's top flight "will happen at the earliest possible time, but not before July 1." The contract "is expected to run until the end of the '17-18 season." The DFL and the league association board "agreed in August to launch a tender process ahead of renewed decision on the issue of goal-line technology." The tender process "is expected to be completed ahead of the league association's member meeting in December." Knowing the result of the tender, the 18 Bundesliga clubs "will then again vote on the introduction of goal-line technology" (SID, 9/22).
