A total of 9.98 million viewers tuned in to watch the game starting at 8:45pm. The game's first half obtained a market share of 28.6% along with 31% in the target demographic 14-49. The game's viewership number climbed to 11.71 million viewers during the second half. The second half's market shares increased to 39.7% and 37.6% in the target demo. Germany won the qualifier 2-1 (QUOTENMETER, 9/8).
ITALIAN GRAND PRIX: German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland obtained a market share of 5% in the target demo as a total of 460,000 viewers tuned in for its broadcast of the Italian F1 GP. RTL, which also aired the race, attracted 4.06 million viewers to its coverage. The race from Monza, which was won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, recorded a market share of 30.2% as well as 24% in the target demo.
US OPEN: Pan-European sports network Eurosport attracted 180,000 viewers to its broadcast of the men's US Open semifinal between Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori on Saturday. The number equaled a market share of 1.1%. In the target demographic, Nishikori's victory had a 0.9% share. Sunday's women's final between Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki was watched by around 110,000 viewers and had a 0.9% share (QUOTENMETER, 9/8).
