Málaga Owner To Discuss Long-Delayed Construction Of Academy With City Officials

La Liga side Málaga Owner Abdullah Al-Thani on Monday tweeted, "Good morning all Tomorrow I will be in Malaga If God wanted it," according to of LA OPINION DE MÁLAGA. Al-Thani "had previously announced that he would return to the city to resolve the problem" of building the club's academy with the involved parties. He "appeared very angry" and again threatened to "move everything to another site" if the situation "is not resolved quickly." Building a club academy "was one of the projects Al-Thani brought to the club, but four years after his arrival, the situation has been not been unlocked to begin construction." Málaga Mayor Francisco de la Torre responded to Al-Thani, also via Twitter, "claiming that the city had done everything in its power for the project to go forward." The La Liga side's owner's intention is to "hold meetings with both city and Andalusia officials to definitively unblock the project of the new sports complex" (LA OPINION DE MÁLAGA, 9/8).
