New AS Roma Stadium Set To Become Reality After Mayor Confirms Agreement

The proposed new stadium of Serie A side AS Roma, "Stadio della Roma," will become a reality after an agreement on the integration of development plans of the project was announced by Rome Mayor Ignazio Marino following a meeting with club President Jim Pallotta, Eurnova CEO Luca Parnasi, club representatives and Rome City Council Urban Planning Assessor Giovanni Caudo. Specific attention was given to the infrastructural solutions. The project plan will be integrated by a new Metro station, a pedestrian bridge and a park close to the Tiber River. A direct investment worth around €1.3B ($1.7B) will result in a privately financed Stadio della Roma that can create a minimum of 3,000 jobs during the construction phase and at least that many during ongoing operations of the complex. In addition, the proposed new entertainment complex will attract more than 200 additional concerts, festivals, sporting events and conferences a year, each one bringing visitors and benefits to Rome (AS Roma).
