Premier League Side Aston Villa Appoints Arsenal Exec Tom Fox As Club's New CEO

EPL side Aston Villa, which has been "put up for sale" by its American Owner RANDY LERNER, hired Arsenal official TOM FOX as its new CEO, according to Tariq Panja of BLOOMBERG. Fox, who is a former NBA and Nike exec, "had been chief commercial officer" at Arsenal for five years (BLOOMBERG, 8/21). The BBC reported Fox replaces PAUL FAULKNER, "who left Villa Park in July." Fox had been with Arsenal since '09 and brings "more than 25 years' experience of sports marketing to Villa" (BBC, 8/21). As a result of Fox's move to Aston Villa, Arsenal has appointed VINAI VENKATESHAM as its CCO. Venkatesham has been with Arsenal for four years since joining from the London 2012 Organizing Committee. Venkatesham will oversee the Arsenal retail and media teams (Arsenal).
