Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has appointed SURESH LETCHMANAN as the head of its new Singapore office. The club will open its first representative office outside Germany on Oct. 15 in Singapore. Letchmanan has 10 years’ experience in the Asian sport sector and speaks four languages fluently. He will work in the offices of Borussia Dortmund’s main sponsor Evonik, close to the offices of the German Football League (DFL) (Borussia Dortmund). ... Former National Rugby League club Melbourne Storm CEO/MD RON GAUCI will serve as the new chairman of Australian Baseball Leauge side Melbourne Aces. Gauci has served as a board member for the Aces for the past two years. He oversaw the restoration of the Melbourne Storm after it was embroiled in a salary cap scandal. Gauci takes over as chairman from ANDREW BAXTER, the current Australian CEO of communications company Publicis Worldwide. Baxter will stay on with the ABL as one of the first members of the league's new National Advisory Board (ABL). ... JON FRANKLIN has been appointed CEO of Glory Sports Int'l, which is the parent company of the Glory kickboxing organization. He will oversee the company’s global operation, which includes live events in major int'l cities and TV broadcasts in more than 170 territories around the world. Franklin takes over as CEO from ANDREW WHITAKER, a former VP with the WWE. Whitaker moves to an advisory role as a consultant for business development (Glory Sports Int'l).
