Basketball Australia has appointed ANTHONY MOORE as its new CEO, replacing former New South Wales Premier KRISTINA KENEALLY, "who quit in April." Moore "has been a sports administrator for more than 20 years," having held positions at the NBA, Cricket Australia and Australian Football League clubs St. Kilda and Richmond. He is currently the GM of participation and sustainable sports at the Australian Sports Commission and will start his new role on Oct. 13. BA Chair SCOTT DERWIN said that "more than 130 people applied for the top job" (AAP, 8/18). ... Indian Olympic Association Joint Secretary RAKESH GUPTA said, "ADILLE SUMARIWALA will be the Chef-de-Mission of the Indian contingent for the Asian Games" (PTI, 8/18). ... Singapore Table Tennis Association President LEE BEE WAH is "stepping down as the association's president and will not be contesting its top job during its biennial general meeting on Sept 6." Lee, who is "likely to be replaced" by Sembawang GRC MP ELLEN LEE, said, "I want to give my successor ample time to prepare for the 2016 Olympics and beyond, which is why I've decided the time is right to step down" (STRAITS TIMES, 8/18).
