U.K.'s Jockey Club To Spend More Than $52M To Improve Facilities In '14

The Jockey Club has revealed it will spend more than £31M ($52M) in '14 on its facilities, according to ISPORTCONNECT. More than £7M ($12M) is going into projects including amenities for racegoers, owners and trainers facilities and maintenance works, over-and-above an outlay of more than £24M ($50M) this year on its flagship development project at Cheltenham Racecourse. Investment projects for '14  -- some completed and others underway -- include: owners and trainers facilities at Carlisle, Exeter, Kempton Park, Nottingham and Wincanton; replacing the family enclosure grandstand at Market Rasen with improved facilities; and upgrading hospitality facilities at Aintree, Haydock Park and the Rowley Mile (ISPORTCONNECT, 8/15).
