The Rugby Football League announced the appointment of CHRIS RAWLINGS as commercial director. Rawlings, 45, joins the governing body with experience in the sports and entertainment industries, having previously worked with some of the world’s biggest brands. He will have responsibility for increasing commercial revenue across Rugby League, working with current sponsors and establishing new partnerships and associations with the sport’s competitions and properties. Rawlings will be based at the sport’s offices at MediaCityUK in Salford and commences his new role on Monday (RFL). ... IMG Sports & Entertainment President GEORGE PYNE is leaving the company to start his own sports and entertainment business (THE DAILY, 8/13). ... Kuala Lumpur Hockey Association "were dealt a major blow" with the resignation of KLHA President GEORGE KOSHY.
