FA Struggling To Sell Tickets For Sept. 3 Norway-England Friendly At Wembley

The FA has so far "sold just 10,000 tickets for the friendly against Norway at Wembley" on Sept. 3, according to Tom Sheen of the London INDEPENDENT. For England's "first friendly since a disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil," the FA has a "long way to go if they are to avoid setting a record low for the national stadium since it was re-opened" in '07. England Manager Roy Hodgson is expected to "have to drum up interest for the unglamorous tie." England faces a "critical qualifier away to Switzerland" during the same int'l break. The FA is "planning a print and online marketing campaign and will be selling discounted seats" (INDEPENDENT, 8/12).
