Marketplace Roundup: Brighton & Hove Albion Parters With Sky Bet, The Cloud

League Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion agreed to a deal with Sky Bet and The Cloud to implement free WiFi across the Amex from the start of the season (Brighton). ... South African Premier Soccer League club Maritzburg United signed a three-year partnership with the Msunduzi Local Municipality worth 36M rand ($3.3M) (SOCCER LADUMA, 8/4). ... Burger King "renewed its contract with the Eredivisie, a move which will see the company continue as an official partner" of the Netherlands’ top football league. The global fast food restaurant chain has been a league sponsor for the past three years and has signed a new three-year deal, with social responsibility programs "again set to be a key element of the partnership." No financial details "were immediately available" (SOCCEREX, 8/6). ... Metro Bank joined EPL side Fulham as its official community banking partner on a two-year deal, commencing at the start of the '14-15 campaign. Metro Bank "will be working alongside the Fulham Football Club Foundation to create the Metro Bank Football Skills Club" (FC BUSINESS, 8/6). ... Virgin Trains signed a two-year deal "to become the shirt sponsor" of League One side Preston North End. The train company "has also launched a travel partnership scheme to give supporters discounted travel on the network" (PROLIFIC NORTH, 8/5). ... The Women’s Squash Association finalized "a major long-term agreement" with Hallmark Events Group to stage the Women’s World Squash Championships in '14, '15 and '16 -- and guarantee a total prizefund in excess of $500,000. The '14 championship will be staged from Dec. 12-19 "at a venue to be confirmed" (THE STAR, 8/6). ... Pelican announced a partnership with League Championship side Middlesbrough. Pelican was awarded the contract to manage Middlesbrough’s food-related purchasing for its Riverside Stadium facilities and its Rockliffe Park training ground (Pelican).
