Media Notes: UEFA, MP & Silva Sign Japan Rights Deal For Euro 2016, 2018 WC Qualifiers

UEFA has announced an exclusive agreement with MP & Silva for the media rights in Japan for the Euro 2016 qualifiers as well as the European qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup (MP & Silva). ... Hudl, a sports video software company based in Lincoln, Nebraska, has made its third acquisition by purchasing London company Replay Analysis, which focuses on web-based software for football and rugby teams. Replay Analysis has more than 20 professional football teams as clients, including Everton, Man City, the English FA and several developmental academy-level teams. The two companies will fully integrate platforms so that Replay Analysis' teams are using Hudl by the end of '15 (Hudl). ... The "opening submissions" of suspended Australian Football League side Essendon coach James Hird, Essendon and the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority "in their Federal Court case will be broadcast live on ABC television on Monday." Justice John Middleton confirmed on Tuesday that viewers "would be able to watch what is likely to be the opening two hours of presentations" starting at 10:15am (THE AGE, 8/5). ... Barcelona has reached an agreement with video platform Dailymotion to use its video player on the club's official website. The club will also launch a dedicated Barcelona channel as part of the deal. The deal goes beyond the football team, as Barcelona's handball, basketball, roller hockey and futsal teams will provide exclusive images and content (Barcelona). ... The Int'l Premier Tennis League and UFA Sports "signed an extensive cooperation agreement wherein UFA Sports will act as the exclusive marketer of the media rights of the league" (INDIAN TELEVISION, 8/5).
