Olympic Notes: Nanjing Youth Olympic Village Opens Doors To 6,000 Residents

Nanjing's Youth Olympic Village will officially open its doors on Aug. 12 to receive more than 6,000 residents including athletes, team officials, young ambassadors and reporters (Nanjing 2014). ... Sports venues that were built for the 2008 Beijing Olympics "are in good condition and could be used for the 2022 Winter Olympics, a way to cut expenses should the Chinese capital host the event." Beijing Olympic City Development Association Vice-Chair Jiang Xiaoyu said that the venues "have been well-cared for, and have seen a lot of use and wide popularity with visitors" (CHINA DAILY, 8/4).
