Bayern Munich's Ticket Department Receives Complaints From Season-Ticket Holders

Bayern Munich's ticket department "is being bombarded with complaints," according to the HANDELSBLATT. In May, the club "revoked the season tickets of 211 season-ticket holders because they did not attend enough home games." The affected people "feel betrayed and hurt in their pride as a fan." The ticket department "has received more than 400 letters in which fans describe their suffering and threaten the ticket department's employees." They "write about their love for the club since childhood, their loyalty to the club for decades or directly threaten with lawyers and lawsuit." They "want their season tickets back." Bayern Munich issues a total of 38,000 season-tickets each year. That is "distinctively less than it could sell." The club received 53,000 season-ticket requests for the '14-15 Bundesliga season. Bayern "warned season-ticket holders that it would revoke their season tickets if they attend less than eight home games during a season." The club "was fed up with the fact that despite a sellout crowd there were empty seats in the stadium" (HANDELSBLATT, 7/29).
