FC Bayern Munich is now online in North America. At www.fcbayernmunich.com, U.S. fans of the club have access to exclusive content tailored specifically to their interests (Bayern Munich). ... La Liga side Atlético Madrid's official Twitter account -- @Atleti -- now has more than 1 million followers. The reigning La Liga champ has increased its Twitter following by 131% over the past year and is now one of 15 European teams with 1 million or more followers on Twitter (LA JUGADA FINANCIERA, 7/17). ... The Rio de Janeiro police department said that four police officers "have been suspended after being caught on video as they beat journalists during an anti-World Cup protest." A police department spokesperson said that the four "will remain suspended until the conclusion of the investigation." Spokesperson Bernardo Moura said that "15 journalists were injured at the protest including a Canadian, Peruvian and Italian and two Brazilians working for foreign news agencies" (AP, 7/16). ... BT Sport announced that recently retired Irish rugby player Brian O'Driscoll has joined the broadcaster as its newest pundit. BT Sport welcomed O'Driscoll to its team for its coverage of the inaugural European Rugby Champions Cup. O'Driscoll "will appear every Wednesday night on the 'Rugby Tonight' show" (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 7/16).
