Sky Austria Signs On As Naming-Rights Partner Of Austria's Second-Tier Football League

Austria's second-tier football league, Erste Liga, "has signed a new title and main sponsorship deal with pay-TV operator Sky Austria," according to 90 MINUTEN. The league "announced the multi-year partnership at its club conference in Vienna" on Thursday. The deal, which also includes naming rights to the league, "means the Erste Liga will be renamed the 'Sky Go Erste Liga.'" Sky Austria Managing Dir Kai Mitterlechner said, "The Erste Liga is a young, dynamic league and perfectly fits our Sky Go product." Austrian Bundesliga Chair Christian Ebenbauer said, "We are happy to have found a naming-rights sponsor for the Erste Liga with Sky Go that like us lives football everyday and perfectly fits the philosophy of our young league." The parties "did not reveal any financial details." The Sky Go Erste Liga will kickoff the '14-15 season on July 18 (90 MINUTEN, 7/10).
