Woburn Golf Club's Marquess Course Named Venue For 2016 Ricoh Women's British Open

The Woburn Golf Club has been announced as the venue for the 2016 Ricoh Women's British Open. The venue has hosted the event on nine occasions. While previous Championships were held on the Duke's Course, it will be the Marquess Course that will host the Championship in '16. This marks not only the 40th edition of the Championship, but also the 40th anniversary of the opening of Woburn Golf Club. The Marquess Course is the most recent of the three courses, opening in '00, and it has hosted two European Tour events, but never a women's Major. Ladies' Golf Union CEO Shona Malcolm said, "With so much shared history, Woburn is a very fitting venue at which to celebrate the Championship’s 40th anniversary." Turnberry's Ailsa course is the venue for the 2015 Ricoh Women's British Open, welcoming the Ricoh Women's British Open for only the second time in the Championships history (Ladies European Tour).
