Real Madrid Opens Up Bernabéu's Presidential Box To Visitors Honoring Alfredo Di Stefano

Real Madrid opened the presidential box at its Santiago Bernabéu stadium to fans wishing to "say their last goodbyes" to ALFREDO DI STEFANO at 10:30am Tuesday morning, according to MARCA. Di Stefano died at age 88 on Monday. The footballing world "took no time at all to offer their condolences upon the death of this inimitable player." There have been "countless reactions from the four corners of the globe" (MARCA, 7/8). MARCA reported in a separate piece that Real's presidential box was scheduled to remain open to visitors until 9pm Tuesday and will be open from 9am until 3pm on Wednesday. Hundreds of fans "formed a line outside the stadium Tuesday morning waiting to say goodbye." It was "estimated that 10,000 people have already visited the stadium." Real Madrid players including IKER CASILLAS and SERGIO RAMOS "stopped their vacations to visit the Bernabéu" (MARCA, 7/8).
