La Liga Athletic Bilbao Announces Three-Year Sponsorship Deal With Kutxabank Subsidiary

Spanish bank Bilbao Bizkaia Kutxa, a subsidiary of Kutxabank, will become La Liga side Athletic Bilbao's "principal sponsor in a three-year deal that will start with the '15-16 season," according to MARCA. Oil company Petronor "will not remain the club's principal sponsor after the conclusion of the upcoming season." During the season that will start in September, the club's shirts will feature Petronor's name for La Liga and Copa del Rey matches, while the BBK logo will "be seen on the left sleeve." In European matches, "possibly Champions League, or Europa League if Bilbao does not qualify for the Champions League, the only shirt advertising will be that of the BBK." During the '15-16, '16-17 and '17-18 seasons, Kutxbank will be the club's only sponsor, "though it has not been decided" whether the shirt will advertise BBK or Kutxabank (MARCA, 7/4).
