Event Notes: Donald Trump In No Rush To Host First Open Championship At Turnberry

Donald Trump is in "no rush to host his first Open Championship at Turnberry," insisting that he wants to explore "seven or eight unbelievable opportunities" to change the Ailsa Course before the event returns to the Ayrshire resort. Setting out the plans for the "newest addition to his portfolio -- he now owns six international hotels and 17 golf courses around the world" -- Trump revealed on Tuesday that his first "tweaks" will involve "pretty significant alterations to the tenth and 11th holes" (SCOTSMAN, 7/2). ... World Baseball Softball Confederation President Riccardo Fraccari on Thursday announced the WBSC's new men's national team baseball event, the "Premier12" world championship, will have its first edition take place in Nov. '15 in Taiwan and feature the world's top 12 nations (WBSC).
