More Than 11 Million Watch Switzerland-Argentina World Cup Match On ZDF

German public broadcaster ZDF "recorded more than 11 million viewers for its broadcast of the Switzerland-Argentina World Cup match on Tuesday," according to Kevin Kyburz of QUOTENMETER. The game, which started at 6pm, attracted a total of 11.62 million viewers. The number translated into a market share of 50%. In the target demographic 14-49, Argentina's 1-0 win in extra time was watched by 4.17 million viewers and had a 50.2% market share. The match's pregame coverage, which started shortly after 5pm, attracted 2.64 million viewers and had a a 22.8% market share. In the target demographic, ZDF's pregame show obtained a market share of 20.1% as 800,000 viewers tuned in. Tuesday's second round of 16 matchup between Belgium and the U.S. attracted 10.35 million viewers and obtained a 52.6% starting at 10pm. In the target demographic, Belgium's 2-1 victory in extra time obtained a 50.5% share as 4.06 million viewers tuned in (QUOTENMETER, 7/2).
